Job Description

 

Job Summary:

The Mechanical Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment within the hotel. This role ensures that heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), plumbing, and other mechanical systems operate efficiently to support the hotel's daily operations and guest comfort. The technician must perform routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs while adhering to safety and compliance standards.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of mechanical systems, including HVAC, boilers, pumps, and plumbing systems.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical failures to minimize downtime and operational disruptions.

  • Ensure that all mechanical equipment operates efficiently and complies with safety regulations and industry standards.

  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical equipment.

  • Monitor energy consumption and suggest improvements for increased efficiency.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repair situations.

  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance schedules, repairs, and system performance.

  • Work closely with other departments to ensure seamless hotel operations.

  • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for outsourced maintenance and repair services.

  • Follow safety procedures and guidelines to minimize hazards in the workplace.

Desired Skill & Expertise

 

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical engineering, HVAC, or a related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in mechanical maintenance, preferably in the hospitality or commercial building sector.

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, boilers, pumps, and other mechanical equipment.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.

  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

  • Ability to work independently and handle emergency repairs efficiently.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and maintenance management software.

  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
