Job Description

Job Summary:

 

Carpenter is responsible to maintain and repair furniture accessories, is expected to observe safe working practice in carrying out repair and maintenance of gypsum board, installation of cabinet and vanity counters.  

        

Responsibilities:

  • Receive and follow for day-to-day maintenance call given by Duty Engineer.
  • Report the summary of job carried out for individual rooms and common area including all used spare parts and accessories
  • Carry out general maintenance as per schedule provided by Duty Engineer for Carpentry and joinery work
  • Repair and maintenance cabinets, doors, windows including assembles accessories
  • New installation joinery works such as gypsum partition, doors, windows, wardrobes, cabinets, etc.
  • Complete the Guest room maintenance schedule on time
  • Build required items including specialty furniture
  • Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment
  • Ensure quality inspections are carried out in line with company standards
  • Perform special projects and other responsibilities as assigned
  • Follow all Health and Safety rules within the Department and the hotel
  • Modification and troubleshooting for any related to the carpentry such as furniture assemble and dismantle
  • Provide assistance to the team whenever requested for any issues to complete project smoothly and safely
  • Study for consumable spare parts rectification and repair instead of replacement within limitation for saving and safety consideration
  • Designing and installing cabinets, shelving, fitted furniture, drywall and insulation
  • Adding fixtures and fittings such as door handles, locks, hinges and closures
  • Maintaining the building and facilities including doors, windows, furniture and other items

Desired Skill & Expertise

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in Hospitality
  • Experience in using hand and power tools such as drills, chisels, sanders, saws, and nail guns
  • Design, construction and installation of frameworks, doors, cabinets, siding, furniture, flooring, walling, shuttering and other wooden fixtures.
  • Fine finishing of woodworks including varnishing, painting etc. 
  • Knowledge of building regulations and codes to be adhered to
